Last night, there was a shooting at the premiere of the latest Batman movie that killed 12 people and injured at least 38 people. It was the deadliest mass shooting on American soil in recent years.
The suspect, a 24 year old named James Homes, entered the cinema through the exit door at about 12:30 as the latest Batman movie, “The Dark Knight Rises” was set to premiere. The perpetrator then discharged a gas canister and opened fire, killing 12 people and injuring dozens more. At first, many movie goers thought this was a promotional tool for the Batman franchise but they quickly learned otherwise and began flooding 911 with phone calls.
The police arrested James Homes, apparently without resistance, and began what will surely be a thorough investigation of the man behind this horrific act.
