Catching up on the upcoming weekend in sports on ESPN.com, I just came across a story entitled Book: Williams’ head abused at facility.
This initially may not strike you as odd if you do not know the story.
Yesterday, I did not go to church because I was watching the PGA Golf tournament. One of the ten commandments says:
I am the LORD your God: you shall not have strange Gods before me!
Was I putting golf before God? Was golf my strange God?
On November 27th, 2009, the life of the greatest sporting hero of the time changed forever. Relive the story of Tiger Woods infidelities, his endless mistresses, and the voicemails that changed the course of golf history.
The story of Tiger Woods has become a story much larger than the game of golf. We once thought that Tiger Woods was simply about the game of golf and, outside of the golf course, he was a loving, family man…now we know much more.
Read below about what happened to Tiger Woods, view pictures of Tiger Woods’ mansion, his wife Elin Nordegren, and his ever-increasing list of women.
It was billed as the Fight of the Decade.
If someone once said “winning isn’t easy”, they unknowingly were describing Andy’s Murray’s quest to win his first major. Andy Murray is an amazing tennis player in an era of men’s tennis greatness. He hit his prime when there were not one–but three–Tiger Woodsish tennis players.
Below were my thoughts going into the final day of the 2012 U.S. Open. In the end, neither of the two headliners I mention below won. It was Webb Simpson who bested them all and took home his first major!
Who will win the U.S. Open today?
Yesterday, before tee-off time, many pundits were already coronating Tiger Woods as the U.S. Open champion of 2012. Then, the unthinkable happened. Tiger faltered.
Several years ago, NBA center Jason Collins announced that he is gay. He is the first active NBA player to come out as gay. And there is one real issue that nobody addresses with gay men in sports: the locker room.
Political correctness informs what so many people are willing–or unwillingly–to say regarding gay men in sports but we cannot hide from this one issue that needs to be addressed.
I applaud Jason Collins for coming out and hope that his actions prevent others from hiding their identities throughout their athletic careers. And, I detest any athlete who refuses to accept a gay athlete as his teammate.
In the interview, Lance Armstrong basically admits to everything. I have watched the first segment and was a bit surprised at how candid Lance Armstrong was because, in the buildup to the interview, Oprah insinuates that Lance Armstrong holds back a little.
Her lead-up to this fight was uncharacteristic. She manufactured malevolence towards her opponent Holly Holm where none was really warranted. I sensed fear.
Then I watched some of Holly Holm’s fights and saw her leg kick in action and I knew why.
It’s now the morning after. I confess…I have not watched one iota of Superbowl coverage following the game, the interception, and possibly the end of the dynasty that wasn’t.Read More
