I had not yet learned the best ways to learn Spanish when I started my Spanish learning process on Tuesday, July 18th. Granted, today is only Wednesday the 19th, but I must diatribe about the negative verb vibe.
Matt Damon Will Not Star In The Bourne Legacy
I just saw a preview yesterday for the new Jason Bourne movie and noticed one glaring thing: There is no Matt Damon!
Now, I loved all the Jason Bourne movies, especially 1 and 3. Two was a bit of a dud, but #2 often carries a stench, so we’ll pardon the initial sequel. Any Jason Bourne movie is like sex: it’s even good when it’s bad.

Yesterday, before tee-off time, many pundits were already coronating Tiger Woods as the U.S. Open champion of 2012. Then, the unthinkable happened. Tiger faltered.
Punta Del Este, Uruguay is unlike any other beach town in Uruguay.
Whereas most beaches in Uruguay are more laid-back and filled with actual Uruguayans, Punta Del Este during the South American summer is the hub of South America’s (and the worlds) elite.
My first exposure to Punta Del Este was not in the summer. It was at the end of September, the beginning of the springtime in Uruguay, when winter is slowly releasing its grasp on the cold weather. We were fortunate to have a good day at this time of the year and decided to take advantage of it with a visit to Punta Del Este.
Renting a car in Uruguay is a tremendous way to get around if you intend to see many places in a short amount of time.
If you are simply going to one place (like Punta Del Este) for several days, it is better to travel by bus.
Bus travel is the most common way to get around for Uruguayans and, unlike most of the people, the buses are extremely prompt, leaving the station at the exact moment that it says on the itinerary.
This is a fashion piece. Particularly, fatherly fashion.
Let nobody be confused. I am the last person who should write about fashion. If you meet me one year, and then again ten years later, you might be left with a question: Wasn’t he wearing that same shirt ten years ago?
So, I have no qualifications to write this, except one: being human. And, right now, my human eye is in the airport looking at a father with his three daughters. I can’t help but note that his attire is similar to many fathers.
Several years ago, NBA center Jason Collins announced that he is gay. He is the first active NBA player to come out as gay. And there is one real issue that nobody addresses with gay men in sports: the locker room.
Political correctness informs what so many people are willing–or unwillingly–to say regarding gay men in sports but we cannot hide from this one issue that needs to be addressed.
I applaud Jason Collins for coming out and hope that his actions prevent others from hiding their identities throughout their athletic careers. And, I detest any athlete who refuses to accept a gay athlete as his teammate.

Seriously, you’d leave Jimmy Kimmel for Matt Damon even before The Bourne Ultimatum. After all, he was also good Will Hunting. But after The Bourne Ultimatum? Funny’s good-go Jimmy Kimmel. But being able to kick anyone’s ass, speak any language, and be an apologetic assassin. It’s a no-brainer.
If you read about my arrival in Uruguay, you know that I was greeted by warm people and cold weather. This ran counter to all my dim intuition which says travel south, get warmer. Well, thankfully, over time, the weather changes. Even better, the people don’t.
I would not like to be a weatherman. Everybody claims to be an expert in your field. I would not like it if I was an accountant and everybody told me that my credits and debits are in the wrong columns. But if I were an accountant, I would probably be right most of the time. Weatherman are so often wrong. Thus, people are compelled to prognosticate.
The common prognostication was this:
“We had such a long, cold winter that the summer is going to be equally long and very hot.”

A while back, I decided to take some time away from the corporate workplace and travel to Uruguay, South America. My decision to travel to Uruguay, instead of other South American countries, was as much by chance as anything else (as you can read in my post “Why Choose Uruguay?“.)

In the interview, Lance Armstrong basically admits to everything. I have watched the first segment and was a bit surprised at how candid Lance Armstrong was because, in the buildup to the interview, Oprah insinuates that Lance Armstrong holds back a little.

Her lead-up to this fight was uncharacteristic. She manufactured malevolence towards her opponent Holly Holm where none was really warranted. I sensed fear.
Then I watched some of Holly Holm’s fights and saw her leg kick in action and I knew why.
We just received an email from a concerned spouse wanting to know whether her husband was cheating on her using Ashley Madison. She added, “If I find that he’s there, he’s going to pay big time!”
