Plaxico Buress: Isn’t His Stupidity Penalty Enough

For those of you who do not know Plaxico Buress, he was the guy who caught the winning touchdown when the Giants beat the undefeated New England Patriots to win the Superbowl.

Now, as of today, he’s in jail.

Basically, because he shot himself. True, the jail term is actually for carrying a concealed weapon, but he only got caught because he accidentally shot himself. Thus, the weapon was discovered. When you shoot yourself in a public place, the previously concealed weapon is rather quickly revealed.

Me, I’ve never stuck a loaded gun down my pants. I would be much more worried about that gun going off in my pants than I would be about the potential protection that it could provide.

Why carry a gun into a club anyway? Are you going to shoot someone who says, “do you mind if we dance wif your dates?”

The gun shot only struck his thigh and did not endanger any other valuable equipment thus ensuring that this stupidity passes on through the generations.

Some things are stupid. When you are millionaire star receiver, carrying a loaded weapon into a club is stupid. Putting said loaded gun in your waistband is REALLY REALLY stupid. Shooting yourself in the thigh is the result of such stupidity.

Putting someone in jail for two years, when he has already shot himself, is also stupid.

Isn’t shooting yourself penalty enough?
