(Read Contacting Paulo Coelho… to learn the background of this email)

Dear Paulo Coelho,

In The Alchemist, you mention that “…when someone makes a decision, he is really diving into a strong current that will carry him to places he had never dreamed of when he first made the decision.”

I’m in the midst of the current.  Eight months ago, when I decided to take a South American journey, I had no idea I would be writing you today.

I have documented my story in an article entitled Contacting Paulo Coelho so I will not repeat it all here in this email.

To sum up, I have been learning Spanish by reading your book Como El Rio Que Fluye: Pensamientos Y Reflexiones 1998-2005.  Your thoughts and reflections have not only contributed to my learning and pronunciation of Spanish but to intriguing discussions with my friends…all in Spanish!

I have recordings of several of your essays from the book in Spanish.  I would like your permission to place 7 of these recordings on my Internet site to assist others in learning Spanish and being exposed to your ideas.

I have created a sample page here for you to take a look at.

If you do not give permission, I will of course take the page down immediately.

If you do give permission, it will prove that “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” 🙂

Thanks so much for your time.  As you are one of my favorite authors and thinkers, I really hope to hear from you.

All the best,

Richard

Footnote:  I want to thank both Paulo Coelho and his associates for getting back to me on this request and granting their permission for broadcasting a few of Paulo’s essays.

You have my permission.
Un gran abrazo
Paulo

Maybe you could change the page name title Contacting Paulo Coelho, Part III, The Email to something more generic for your subject you create. I enjoyed the the writing withal.

Wow Richard, that’s amazing man. The universe does conspire us in achieving our dreams. Can you help me on a simple favor. I’m writing a term paper on Paulo Coehlo on my subject Philosophy. I find it hard what to write in Personal Background and Historical Milieu. I find it hard how to tell the difference. I would appreciate if you can help me a bit. Well that’s all I got to say, God Bless and may all your dreams come true.
